Board and Credit Commitee
We have a Board of volunteer Directors at SCML made up of people with specialised knowledge in their sector. Skills include banking & finance, law and marketing. We also have a Credit Committee who use their skills and professional knowledge to sanction or decline loan applications.
Chair: Lucy Furniss. Lucy has been a Director of SCML since 2006 and was voted in as Chair in November 2008. Lucy brings a wealth of experience, having managed SCML for a couple of years and led a Regeneration Partnership in Bedford and also worked for a private sector bank. From 2003 to 2008 she was self employed as a Community Finance Consultant and has experience of working on a number of projects with Community Finance Institutions and Credit Unions. Lucy now juggles running a bed and breakfast and caring for her young daughter.
Vice Chair: Ralph Facey. Ralph is the Director of Swaythling Housing Society and has over 20 years' housing management experience gained in a range of organisations. Ralph joined the board of South Coast Moneyline in 2006. During his career working in the housing sector, Ralph saw the impact of social exclusion first hand and joined SCML to do all he could to make a difference. Ralph can often be found at Fratton Park cheering on Pompey with his son George or dreaming about motorbikes and pretending he has the ability to ride one!
